Blog started as an online diary with the power to attract traffic and Internet Marketers realized that it can be used to promote products and services. Soon everybody is talking about blogging and how to blog to make money.
Not every blog can attract traffic. To attract traffic, you need to have the basic knowledge of search engine optimization. In order to make money from blogging, you need to have the knowledge of what the Internet community is searching. This brings us back to the subject keyword research which i have covered earlier.
There are few ways to create a blog. Either you can create your blog in Blogger or buy a web hosting space and create your blog from there. If you like to create a blog for leisure, then Blogger will be your choice.
However if you are serious in how to blog to make money, the latter will be your choice. The reason being you do not want to risk losing your blog with Blogger since it is a free service. When it is free, you have no control with their decision. Moreover buying a web hosting plan is so affordable nowadays.
If you are serious with a business and you can’t afford to pay for web hosting, I think you need to re-evaluate your priorities. Maybe you are not here to make money but just to entertain your traffic? If that is the case, Blogger will suffice.
Making a post in your blog is similar to create a document. You need to give a title to your post and that is where you need to insert your keyword for the search engine to pick up your post.
Next you are required to pepper your content with your keyword. My purpose of this article is to explain on how to blog to make money and I have deliberately used that phrase casually in my content.
The frequency of using your keyword must not distort the flow of your content or you might run the risk of keyword stuffing to the search engines. Keep in mind that you are writing for your valuable guest and not for the search engines and I am sure your post will attract some decent natural traffic.
Once your blog is live on the Internet, it is time to market it. The most common method to attract traffic is article marketing. Write a related article on what you are blogging and post it in an article directory.
Other more advance methods are covered by established bloggers and I have short listed some for your consideration if you are passionate in learning how to blog to make money.
